Where do you get your cars from?
We view our inventory as individual pieces of art and therefore consider our acquisition process more of procurement. We procure our vehicles from a number of sources including, trade-ins on our own inventory, dealer-to-dealer purchases, and franchise dealer trade purchases.
How long does it take for me to receive title to my new vehicle?
In the state of Texas, automotive dealers are allotted 21 days to furnish title to the purchasing customer. However, on average, Southlake Motorcars usually delivers title to you within 2-3 business days, via UPS. In the event that a trade-in had an existing payoff, this time frame may exceed the average.
I received my plates and registration, but not the title, where is it? (Texas Residents Only)
If you are a Texas resident, we are required to register your vehicle for you. When doing so, we hand over the title to the local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) where it is registered, accompanied by a check to pay for your sales tax, license, and registration fees. If you did not finance the vehicle, then the title will come directly to you at the address of registration, direct from the state of Texas' title processing division in Austin, TX. This usually takes 14-21 days from the date of registration. If you financed the vehicle, the title is sent direct from the title processing division to your lienholder, who will release title to you once your loan is paid off in full at the end of your finance term.
How long does it usually take for my car to arrive using transport?
There can be no set number of days that all cars take to arrive utilizing shipment. However, if you are located in the U.S., the average number of days it will take for a vehicle to arrive on your doorstep from our facility is approximately 4 days from pickup.
How do I know that the vehicle has not been wrecked, has a bad title, and is as-described in your listings?
We take great pride in the condition of our vehicles. We have an industry leading feedback and customer approval rating that speaks for itself. We do our best to describe our vehicles exactly as we see them. During the photographing process we administer a full walk around multi-point inspection to detect any major blemishes, dents, scratches, or damages. In the event that any notable imperfections were discovered and were not able to be repaired, we would disclose such findings in the description section of the vehicle's listing. All of our vehicles come with a clear title, free of any liens or holds.
Do you accept trade-ins, and if so, how are trades handled?
Yes, we welcome any and all trade-ins. The process is relatively the same as it would be at any dealership. If you are an out of state buyer, we will email you a short questionnaire about your trade-in (yr, make, model, miles, VIN, etc.) that will allow us to give you a trade value directly over the phone. If a deal is finalized, we will arrange for a transport company to handle the swap, right at your doorstep.
What fee's will I pay in addition to the sales price?
Out of state buyers are required to pay an Admin Fee ($175), Doc Fee ($50), and Texas state Inventory Tax (calculated at 0.002126 of the sales price. For example: Sales Price of $50,000 would amount to $106.30 in inventory tax dues).
Texas buyers will be subject to the same fees as out of state buyers with the addition of sales tax. Sales tax in Texas is calculated at 6.5% of the sales price.
You don't have the car I'm looking for. Can you locate a specific vehicle for me?
Yes. Southlake Motorcars has a division dedicated to "Locate Deals." We will locate any year, make, or model vehicle of your choice. Utilizing Southlake Motorcars Locate Division, will allow you to utilize our extensive automotive experience to ensure you are getting a quality vehicle. Additionally, as a dealer, we are able to purchase at wholesale and would pass on a portion of those savings to you.

How much will it cost to ship the vehicle to me?
Shipping rates will vary based on your proximity to our dealership. However, an average cost per mile for open carriers is usually around $0.49 per mile, and $0.95 per mile for enclosed.
Does the vehicle come with temp tags?
Yes. All vehicles are shipped with a 60-day tag that can remain on the car in any state until your vehicle is registered and new plates arrive.
If I fly in to see the car, what is the closest airport and can you pick me up?
We are ideally located in close proximity to both of the major airports in the DFW area. You may fly in to "DFW International Airport" or "Lovefield Airport", and we will gladly send our courtesy vehicle to pick you up from the airport. Even if you do not purchase a vehicle from us, we will happily take you to a hotel nearby or drop you back at the airport for a return flight.
When do I get my plates and registration?
As with vehicle titles, we are allotted 21 days to register your vehicle for you if you are a Texas buyer. If you are out of state, that would be determined by your local registration office.
Can you register my vehicle for me in another state?
Although it is not common practice for us to register your vehicle out of state, our accounting and registration department will gladly aid you in the process.
For Trade In Payoffs: I made a payment after the payoff was sent, do you pay me back for that?
No. In the event that you were to send in a payment shortly before or after we pay off your vehicle, your lending institution would send you a refund check in amount totaling the overage.
What forms of payment do you accept? May I send a personal check?
Although wire transfers are our preferred method of funding, we do accept several other options. We accept PayPal, VISA/Mastercard/American Express, and cashiers checks. However, should you elect to fund your purchase using PayPal or any type of credit/debit card, you will be responsible for paying the applicable fees involved with the processing.
How do you find your transporters?
To ensure that any transport dispatched by our dealership is licensed, insured, and bonded, we only dispatch your vehicle through the nations largest transport network, CentralDispatch. This network is only available to licensed car dealers, and licensed transporters with adequate insurance and experience.
